The System
What is System 3E?
A modular wall construction system with precision-manufactured interlocking elements, dry-stacked primary wall courses, and insulating characteristics within the wall material.
System 3E is the building system at the center of DNA3E's U.S. market-development efforts. Learn what a mortar-free wall system is and how the approach works. For a wider view, compare alternatives to traditional masonry construction and how different wall systems approach the same challenges. For a direct head-to-head, see System 3E vs. CMU.

Key Characteristics
- Primary wall courses dry-stacked without conventional mortar between courses
- Wall elements with insulating characteristics within the wall material
- Precision-fit, interlocking components for consistent installation
- Precision geometry designed for repeatable wall-course assembly

How the System 3E Click-Click Connection Works
System 3E describes its self-interlocking elements as using Morse-taper geometry on surfaces joining adjacent elements. Successive primary wall courses are dry-stacked using the manufacturer's click-click assembly method.

Morse-taper geometry on surfaces joining adjacent elements
Conceptual illustration based on System 3E manufacturer geometry.
System 3E's manufacturer documentation describes the elements as self-interlocking and joined through the click-click method. The connecting geometry uses upper and lower locks with guiding and clamping surfaces, while System 3E describes the geometry on surfaces joining adjacent elements as based on the Morse taper principle.
Primary wall courses are assembled without conventional mortar between successive courses. Foundation interfaces and other project-specific structural details are treated separately.
